Maximizing Patient Exposure in a Competitive Clinical Trial Market

While alopecia areata is a competitive space, the Indero patient recruitment team brainstormed ways to increase patient engagement and boost enrollment. By introducing a central campaign, which became our most successful to date, the study reached its randomization target 3 months early.

Challenges

  • New drug approval changing the standard of care in alopecia areata introduced a plateau in US recruitment 
  • Sites work through databases faster and have a hard time finding patients with SALT scores between 50–95%

Strategy & Results

  • Central campaign, including public relations and geotargeted advertising elements, launched once 50% of the sites were activated
  • Introduced an awareness campaign to boost central campaign results: 
    • 55% of AA patients enrolled with Clinago
